Kelly Murray Named 2022 Citizen of the Year by the Flower Mound Chamber of Commerce

The Flower Mound Chamber of Commerce has named Kelly Murray, founder of Murray Media Group, as the 2022 Citizen of the Year, honoring her outstanding contributions to business, community, and service in Denton County.
Murray, a longtime resident of Flower Mound, has built her reputation as both an entrepreneur and a community advocate. Through Murray Media Group, which she co-founded with her husband Scott, Kelly has spent over two decades amplifying the voices of local businesses and building connections through trusted community publications such as Live Local Magazines and the Best of Denton County awards.
But Murray’s impact extends far beyond the pages of her magazines. She is known for her tireless involvement in civic organizations, charitable initiatives, and volunteer work, especially through the Cross Timbers Rotary Club. Her leadership and generosity have helped bring attention and resources to local nonprofits, schools, and family-focused community programs.
“Kelly embodies what it means to be a servant leader,” said a Chamber representative during the award presentation at the Chamber’s annual awards luncheon. “Her passion for strengthening local businesses, her commitment to giving back, and her ability to connect people make her an incredible role model for our community.”
For Murray, the recognition was both humbling and inspiring. “Flower Mound has given so much to me and my family,” she said. “To be honored as Citizen of the Year is truly a reflection of the amazing community we live in and the people I get to work alongside every day. I’m grateful and excited to continue making a difference in the place we call home.”
